Commemorative Thai Coins For 550 Years of Guru Nanak offered to public

Two commemorative coins in different sizes and quality, with the Mool Mantra embedded in Gurmukhi and Thai and logo in  English language, dedicated to the 550 Years of the founder of Sikhism -Guru Nanak minted by the Royal mint of Thailand are now available for purchase for the general public.

The Thai government which issued commemorative coins for the historic year of 2020 to coincide with the 550 years of Guru Nanak, has now made available these coins for sale to the general public.

Sri Guru Singh Sabha Bangkok, Namdhari Sikh Sangat of Thailand, Maharaja Garden City Bangkok (Neeldhari Sikhs), Thai Sindh Association and Dev Mandhir along with the Indian embassy officials played a collaborative role to convince the Thai government to release these coins on this historic occasion.

The comparatively bigger one is made from Copper and the other of Nickel. The Front side of the coin has the has EK ONKAR Logo and Backside has the 550 logos and the Mool Mantra starting from Ek Onkar Satnam Kartapurkh Nirbhau Nirvair Akal Purkh Ajooni Saibang Gurparsard Jap,. embedded in Gurmukhi language.

Thai commemorative coins

As per details provided by sources in Bangkok, one hundred coins are available for sale.

It is noteworthy that these coins were released in November 2019 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his trip to Bangkok.
