Expressing heartfelt condolences with the families of 25 Sikhs killed in the attack on the Sikh Sangat at the 400-year old Gurdwara Pathshahi  Satvin -Guru Har Rai Sahib in Kabul, Afghanistan, Sikh political body Dal Khalsa has sought settlement of the Sikhs at an appropriate place of their choice while condemning the mercenary politics of the right-wing Muslim fanatic bodies.

TERMING IT AS A HEINOUS ACT OF INHUMAN SAVAGERY, DAL KHALSA strongly condemned the terror strike at the Gurdwara complex in Afghanistan, killing 25 innocent Sikh worshippers.  Party Spokesperson Kanwar Pal Singh said that “our heart goes out to the victims of the dastardly act.”

To avoid further casualties, Sikhs can move to Peshawar in Pakistan as refugees on a temporary basis since Pakistan has thousands of Afghan refugees under its protection.  Kanwar Pal Singh said, “I am sure that the Imran Khan government can help Sikhs on humanitarian grounds.”

SGPC and other Sikh organisations, especially in the Diaspora should come forward to help these families in all ways including their settlement at safer places, whenever possible at the earliest under the present circumstances.

“It seems that Sikhs have to pay a price for their vulnerability and the vicious designs of the ISIS and other militant forces.”

“It is strange that the attack came a day after the United States announced to cut its aid to the Afghan government by $1 billion over frustrations that feuding political leaders could not reach an agreement and form a team to negotiate with the Taliban.”

Dal Khalsa in its release has stated that the ISIS has its own interpretation of Islam which is not shared by a large section of Muslims worldwide.

Kanwar Pal Singh opined that “It seems that Sikhs have to pay a price for their vulnerability and the vicious designs of the ISIS and other militant forces. Yesterday’s massacre of Sikhs is a fallout of the power struggle going on in Afghanistan especially ever since the US signed a peace deal with the Taliban. This is the second time in recent times that they have been targeted in a brutal way by ISIS militants.”

Attack on Sikhs in Afghanistan

He questioned whether “the Afghan Sikhs have been made a scapegoat in the deeper design of major world players operating in Afghanistan.”

“It is testing time for Afghani Sikhs and their fellow-Sikhs,” he added.
